The school's maintenance staff quickly responded with shop vacuums and mops to clean up the mess as teachers scrambled to push desks out of the way and cover valuables with plastic.

This shows the holes in one of the many condenser units which froze, causing our problems.  An unusual combination of problems including interupted power and a failure of the computer program which controls the heating system mistakenly allowed cold outside air to be drawn through these units.

Many ceiling tiles will need to be replaced.

When students learned that the Mrs. Gansen's music room suffered some water damage, they were quick to worry about the new electric piano which their thousands of Pepsi Points had purchased.  The expensive instrument, which had just arrived, was quickly covered with plastic.  6th graders' compositions on Mrs. Gansen's desk were not as fortunate, however, and will be drying out soon.
